CFDA Development Manager
Department: Strategic Partnerships
Reports to: Director, Strategic Partnerships & Business Development
Job Class: Exempt Full-Time
Base Salary Min/Max: $90k min/$115k max
This position will organize work for the Partnerships Development team.
Primary Duties include: increase annual revenue, prospect potential partners, project management of partner lead research, pitch, secure, and management of partnerships, fundraising, and qualified sponsorships for the following CFDA organizational initiatives: Education & Professional Development, FMI, and the CFDA Scholarship Fund.
Additional Duties include: category specific partner management, tracking and oversight of partner contracts and deliverables, creation of marketing collateral/proposals. This position also works closely across departments, Education and Professional Development and Program Strategies.
Support CFDA and its membership through programs dedicated to: Education/Scholarships, Social Impact/Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Sustainable Initiatives, Business Development, CFDA Awards, New York Fashion Week/Fashion Calendar & Runway360, Fashion Supply Chain Partnerships, Philanthropy, Marketing & Communication, among other programs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop relationships with major clients to increase CFDA’s annual revenue of $12M - $15M 
- Utilize business development competencies to generate annual revenue with target of 25% of total Organizational Goal which is $3M - $3.750M 
- Secure and project manage partnerships/sponsorships in the following areas: 
o CFDA Organizational Initiatives: CFDA Scholarship Fund, Manufacturing Initiatives, Grant Applications + Grant Writing, Sustainability Programming + Fundraising
o Categories: Consumer Products, Media (print+digital), Technology, Retail, Traditional Fundraising
- Research leads and create prospect lists, and perform preliminary business development research on companies, vendors, and designers for potential partnerships/sponsorships 
- Establish partnerships and manage partner activations across dedicated categories, from development and activation to recap and renewal 
- Create marketing collateral/proposals (overview decks, pitch decks, written proposals, recap decks, one sheets) 
- Tracking/management of deliverables to social such as press releases, contractual partner requirements 
- Draft and schedule partner/sponsor activation timelines 
- Serve as department lead on fundraising for CFDA Scholarship Fund and Education and Professional Development Initiatives 
- Department POC for CFDA Finance Department on partner/sponsor/fundraising invoices, contracts, etc. 
- Work with VP of Education and Sustainability on fundraising and partnerships for the CFDA Scholarship Fund 
- Work with CFDA departments Communications/Marketing/Events to develop social/digital strategies and event activation elements 
- Collaborate with the Director of Professional Development, on event planning logistics for partners/sponsors 
- Oversee application and grant writing process for CFDA traditional non-profit fundraising initiatives 
- Liaise with external agencies, PR, photography agencies, and production, on developing new partnership leads and delivering on specific elements of existing activations 
- Manage contract drafting and negotiations with CFDA legal team and partner legal teams 
- Invoicing and accounting tracking 
- Oversee internal and external scheduling and manage schedule for department Director

- Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; and 4 years related experience.
